ABOUT
Devon
Over twenty years in practice has given me a refined sense of where to look, an ability to listen with my hands, and the precision to respond to what your body is asking for.
MY APPROACH
The body is not a collection of isolated parts. It is an interconnected system of extraordinary intelligence — nervous tissue, fascia, organs, vessels, bones, and our magnificent brains — all in constant conversation with each other. Pain, dysfunction, and disease are rarely where they appear to originate. They are expressions of patterns held elsewhere, often far from where you feel them, often shaped by experiences the body never fully processed. I am here to help untangle the signals to allow your body to heal.
Fascial Counterstrain allows me to work with systems most manual therapists never address — vascular fascia, visceral fascia, neural fascia, the brain itself. I approach every client as a complete system, looking for the patterns driving their symptoms rather than treating the symptoms directly.
My training spans structural bodywork, Traditional Chinese Medicine, movement education, and advanced fascial therapy. Not because I collected credentials, but because each layer brought me closer to understanding the whole. I try to see the forest, not just the trees.
THE WORK THAT CHANGED EVERYTHING
In 2022 I discovered Fascial Counterstrain. I discovered it first as a client. Forty years of PTSD resolved completely in five sessions. Not managed. Not reduced. Resolved.
I have practiced manual therapy for two decades. I have never encountered anything that touches the depths Counterstrain is able to reach. This work addresses the entire fascial system — nerves, blood vessels, lymphatics, organs, bones, brain, and adipose tissue — with a precision and gentleness that still surprises me.
The results it produces in people who have tried everything else are not incremental. They are profound. This is why I do this work.
HOW I GOT HERE
Each chapter deepened and expanded what came before.
MASSAGE & MANUAL
THERAPY
I began practicing in Hawaii in 2005, trained across multiple modalities from the start. Fascia drew me from the beginning. The connective tissue that surrounds and connects everything in the body seemed to hold answers that other approaches couldn't touch.

STRUCTURAL INTEGRATION &
ROLFING
I trained at the Rolf Institute, learning how fascial manipulation of the musculoskeletal system could address structural alignment and chronic patterns. It expanded what I thought was possible and deepened my understanding of fascia in ways that still inform how I work today.
2013
Living in Australia, I studied acupuncture, five element theory, and TCM. That training gave me a complete framework for understanding the organ systems, their relationships to each other, and how emotional and physical health are inseparable. It changed how I see every client.

DANCE, YOGA &
MOVEMENT
INSTRUCTION
I taught dance, movement, and yoga for nearly a decade, eventually owning my own studio. Teaching people how to inhabit their bodies gave me a quality of somatic awareness and presence I bring into every session. That time gave me a fluency in how bodies move, strain, compensate, and recover that no clinical training alone could provide.

FASCIAL COUNTERSTRAIN
The work that brought everything together. I have studied and applied FCS intensively since 2022. Nothing I have encountered in more than twenty years of working with the body does what this work does. I came to it first as a client, and it changed everything about how I understand the body and how I practice.

MY PHILOSOPHY
Our minds, bodies, and spirits are inextricably linked — just as we are linked to each other, to the natural world, and to the cosmos. Something vast and intelligent moves through all living systems, and the body is always responding, reacting and navigating its way through the internal and external ecosystem.
Our bodies are designed to live in balance, to maintain homeostasis and ultimately, to survive.
Our bodies long to thrive. Even disease and dysfunction are expressions of that drive.
The signal may have gone wrong but the intention never has.
We live in a world that has drifted far from our innate intelligence. Modern life, for all its extraordinary gifts, has made us fast, convenient, and profoundly disconnected. From nature. From our food. From each other. From our bodies. From ourselves. Pain or disease are often the only ways we connect with our physical form because the body demands it. I want to help change that dynamic.
We have come to expect immediate relief. We have become accustomed to solutions that silence the signal rather than listen to it. Western medicine has produced genuine miracles, and I am grateful for them. But solutions that require changing the fundamental structure of our bodies, pills that quiet symptoms and often create new ones, deserve more careful consideration than our current system often allows.
Healing, real healing, asks something of us. It asks us to slow down, to pay attention, to reconnect with the extraordinary intelligence already living inside us. That process cannot be rushed and it cannot be outsourced.
I am not the healer. I am a facilitator, a teacher, and a guide — here to listen to what your body is saying, honor its wisdom, and help you find your way back to freedom through informed and intuitive touch.
